Week 4, Sessoin 1, 2, and 3

          

             After knowing the components of Computer about, so continuously to this week in the first session, I studied about Basic Networking Concepts. Computer Network is the interconnected computers and every computer network functions when having these three concepts:

• Topology: The physical layout of the network
• Protocol: The rules in data communication
• Architecture: How the hardware and software are integrated to form a working.

     This session also consists some components of  network: Communication Media, Interconnection Devices, Computers, Networking Software, Applications. For the second session of this week, I also go through to the lesson of Networking Communication Mediums. It includes the Communication Channel, Network Medium, Physical Media, Physical Medium, Wireless Media, Wireless Medium, and Wireless Working: Wi-Fi. Besides these capabilities, Applications are also inserted to present in this lesson, which is useful to take the advantage of Wireless, such as PDA access to a card catalog.
         The last lesson of this week which I've absorbed is Types of Network. There are three types of Network:

•  LAN: Network in small geographical Area (Room, Building or a Campus), which have Intranet (A private LAN designed for use by everyone within an organization) and Extranet (A network that connects people within the company with people who are outside the company).

• WAN- Wide Area Network: a network that spans a wide geographical area.

• Peer-to-peer Network: this point also has the advantages and disadvantages on its own.

• Other Types of Network: SAN-Storage Area Network, WPAN-Wireless Personal Area Network, Hybrid Network, Web-based Network, NET Computing.
